Major Foundation Repair

Cinder Block wall from 1952 was found to have no rebar reinforcement or concrete filler and it failed due to bridging and soil movement over time. (Settlement/Earthquake)

Many Posts were found rotten due to wood sitting on dirt with no concrete footer. Some posts didn't even touch the ground.

Had Joe with Pannone Engineering (PE Civil Engineer) do a formal report and recommended a design fix.

Once report and design fix was created we used Rhino Carbon Fiber Bi-lateral Crack repair kit to cover the failed opening in block and structurally adhere the footer to the foundation wall.

We then drilled 3"holes in the top course of block and brought in a concrete truck with a diesel pump and pumped the wall full of SCC 3/8 concrete, including filling all voids under the footer to fix the bridging that created the failure.

We also built 24"x24"X8" Boxes for all posts on the beam in question. And poured and attached with Simpson Strong Tie brackets with the manufacturer recommended fasteners.

We then covered all the walls with Alaska Insulation Foam 2" R-10 with plastic mechanical fasteners and filled any gaps with spray foam. We then covered the entire ground with fire rated 6 mil plastic and used acoustical sealant to caulk it to the foam 18" Up the wall. We also overlapped all seams and taped the plastic with non-permeable tape to seal the crawl space from the ground moisture!
