A Whole New Layout: Plumbing, Gas, and Ventilation
This project began with a major rework of the kitchen’s layout. The client wanted to shift the fridge and cooktop locations to better suit their cooking habits and create a more open, inviting space. To make this happen, we had to move several key utilities, including:
Plumbing: We relocated the water supply to accommodate the new fridge and sink placement, ensuring that all connections were made seamlessly.
Gas Line: The cooktop's new location required us to reroute the gas supply safely and efficiently, meeting all local codes.
Ventilation Ducting: Proper ventilation is essential in any kitchen, especially near the cooktop. We moved the ventilation duct to its new position, ensuring optimal airflow and the elimination of cooking odors.
Additionally, we reframed a new opening to house the fridge, making sure it was perfectly integrated into the overall design. The result? A kitchen that flows beautifully and works even better.
Custom Lighting: Elegant and Practical
Lighting can make or break the look of a kitchen. In this remodel, we rewired the space to install pendant lights above the island and LED puck lights throughout the entire kitchen. These choices offer both aesthetic appeal and practicality, providing ample task lighting for food prep while creating a warm, inviting ambiance.
The pendant lights bring a touch of elegance, while the LED pucks are strategically placed to brighten every corner, from countertops to cabinets.
Custom Cabinets & Island: Built for Function and Style
A key element of this remodel was the custom kitchen cabinetry, designed to maximize storage while maintaining a sleek, modern look. We worked with the client to design a layout that fit their specific needs, from pull-out pantry shelves to soft-close drawers.
The custom island became the focal point of the kitchen. Not only does it offer extra prep space, but we also included built-in power outlets for added convenience. Whether you need to plug in small appliances or charge your devices, this island was designed to handle it all.
A Kitchen Fit for the Modern Home: Appliances & Central Vacuum Relocation
The installation of top-of-the-line Kitchen Aid appliances completed the transformation. We ensured each appliance—whether it was the stove, refrigerator, or dishwasher—was perfectly integrated into the design.
Additionally, we relocated the central vacuum system to accommodate the new layout, ensuring the client could easily clean their entire kitchen without any hassle. This upgrade provides a clean, dust-free environment, making the kitchen even more functional.
Gorgeous Countertops: Custom Engineered Stone
To top off the design, McKinley Countertops Custom Engineered Stone countertops throughout the kitchen. These surfaces offer not only beauty but also durability. Resistant to stains, scratches, and heat, engineered stone is a perfect choice for busy kitchens where both style and practicality are a must.
The natural tones of the McKinley countertops tied in beautifully with the custom cabinetry and backsplash, creating a seamless, elegant aesthetic.
Flooring: Seamless Luxury Vinyl Tile
For the flooring, we installed 1200 ft² of luxury vinyl tile throughout the entire lower level of the home. This flooring is not only stunning but also incredibly durable. It provides a seamless, cohesive look that flows from the kitchen to the adjoining living and dining areas.
Luxury vinyl tile is also easy to maintain, perfect for high-traffic areas like the kitchen. The warm tones and texture added just the right touch to complete the overall design.
